Asia Treasure - 399 High Plain Street, Walpole, MA

Tried something different for this review, Takeout! I originally said we should just get it delivered that way I'm not influenced by the restaurant, parking, etc. However, I'm planning on adjusting my rating system so it makes a little more sense and more emphasis on the sushi itself. So without further adieu..

Ordered a small sampling of things from the menu at Asia Treasures, some tobiko, saba, a negihama maki, and a specialty roll called a "torches tuna" , I think they meant torched tuna. seared edges on the tuna in a roll with tobiko, yellowtail as well. The first thing I noticed while looking at the menu is the prices, they were very reasonable, for instance an order of Tobiko was $3.50, compared to my last review where one piece was $3, this was for 2 pieces. Excellent :)   As you can see even for a delivery box it is presented as good as can be inside this plastic containe and a generous amount of gari (ginger) and wasabi was given as well as enough packets of soy sauce.

Everything tasted good the negihama maki  top right in picture could have been rolled a little better it broke apart a little, and salmon wasn't the most buttery slice I've had , but  all in all it was an enjoyable meal and I wouldn't hesitate to order from there again.

The one mistake they did make was my order for saba (mackerel). They put in sake (salmon) instead, which is fine , it tasted good, but I was in the mood for saba instead. Don't worry it didn't ruin my day :)

Rating this on only 2 categories and switching to a system based on a 10 point scale. Much easier to review that way !

Tokyo Restaurant - 388 Wickenden St., Providence, RI

*please excuse formatting, work in progress....

Went here with a couple of my neighbors on a Friday night. We had called ahead and asked if we needed a reservation. They said no, but we needed one! It was about a 30 minute wait minimum for a table. Considering the college area and the time, I can't complain, but we asked if we needed a reservation before coming to limit the wait.

The service itself was slow, the noise was unbearable at one point due to the large table of college kids next to us about 20 of them partying it up. It's BYOB which we knew and my neighbor picked up a 6 pack of Sapporo down the street.

I only ordered a few things but all of what I ordered was wonderful. The tobiko (flying fish roe), saba (mackerel) some of the best mackerel I've ever had (as another reviewer stated), and one of their rolls called the River roll. While I'm ashamed to admit I forget everything that was in it, it was topped with black tobiko and it was very enjoyable .
The miso soup was good with a good amount of tofu and kombu in there, good flavor.Overall foodwise the place was great, parking wasn't too bad, price on the Nigiri and Maki was great! Service was very slow, but given the area I'll forgive them a little.....

The prices of everything on the sushi menu was very reasonable!
